Split Aces and 8s every time, regardless of the dealer's upcard. Two Aces gives you two chances at 21; two 8s escape the dreaded 16.

Never Split

Double Down

How to Play Blackjack at m.taya365

The Goal

Beat the dealer's hand without going over 21. It's that simple — and that deep. Number cards are worth their face value, face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10, and Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever helps your hand more.

The Flow of a Round

Place your bet, receive two cards face-up. The dealer gets one card face-up and one face-down (the "hole card"). You then choose to Hit (take another card), Stand (keep your hand), Double Down (double your bet and take exactly one more card), or Split (if you have a pair, split into two separate hands).

Payouts

A standard win pays 1:1. A natural blackjack (Ace + 10-value card on your first two cards) pays 3:2 at most m.taya365 tables. Insurance pays 2:1 but is generally not recommended by strategy guides.

Common Mistakes Filipino Players Make

The biggest mistake is playing by gut feel rather than basic strategy. Many players in Manila and Cebu stand on 16 against a dealer's 7 — strategy says hit. Another common error is taking insurance, which carries a high house edge of around 7%.
